About Law & Order

Law & Order was a compelling crime drama series, based in New York City, USA. It aired from 1990 to 2010, having 20 seasons in total.

Law & Order highlighted the flaws in the American Criminal Justice System and gave a unique insight into how cases are seen through - from when they are investigated by the police, until the offenders are taken to the courts for prosecution. Law & Order spent the first half of the show looking at the police investigation and the second half looking at the prosecution by the ADAs.

At the start of each episode, the following was said:

In the Criminal Justice System, the people are represented by two separate, yet equally important groups: the Police, who investigate crime and the District Attorneys, who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories.
